Privacy policy

How Nettrux handles your information.

This policy explains what Nettrux LLC collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to nettrux.net, the Nettrux portal, the Sequence carrier and driver app, and the notifications our apps send.

Who we are and what this covers

Nettrux LLC (“Nettrux”, “we”, “us”) is a freight logistics company based in Fremont, California. This policy covers the information we handle when you:

  • visit nettrux.net or contact us from it;
  • use the Nettrux portal as a shipper, customer, guest, or member of our staff to book, track, and document freight;
  • use Sequence, our carrier operating system and driver app, as a carrier, dispatcher, or driver;
  • receive push or SMS notifications from us.

Where a carrier or shipper uses Nettrux software to run its own operations, that company decides what it collects from its own drivers, staff, and customers and how long it keeps it; Nettrux processes that information on the company’s behalf and under its instructions. Questions about a company’s own practices should go to that company first.

Information we collect

Information you give us. Your name, work e-mail, phone number, and company when you request a rate, create a portal account, or write to dispatch; shipment details such as origin, destination, commodity, weights, references, and special instructions; documents you upload or that carriers send us, such as bills of lading, proofs of delivery, and photos; and the messages you send through the portal or Sequence.

Information about freight in motion. Tracking events, check calls, delivery confirmations, and telematics or ELD data that a carrier’s provider shares with us under the carrier’s authorization, so shippers can see where their freight is.

Driver accounts in Sequence. A driver signs in with a code issued by the carrier. Sequence does not store a driver’s name, phone number, or e-mail unless the driver or carrier provides it for a specific feature, such as enrolling in SMS notifications or a carrier’s roster. Location is collected only as described under Driver location sharing.

Information collected automatically. Sign-in and session records, device and browser type, pages viewed, and security logs. See Cookies and analytics.

How we use information

  • To quote, book, dispatch, track, deliver, and document freight, and to invoice and pay for it.
  • To run the portal and Sequence: sign you in, show you your shipments and loads, deliver messages between dispatch and drivers, and keep the records a carrier needs for safety, compliance, and claims.
  • To send the notifications you asked for — app push notifications, and SMS only if we offer it and you opted in.
  • To secure our systems, detect fraud and abuse, and audit who did what.
  • To meet legal, tax, transportation, and regulatory obligations.
  • To improve our services, using aggregate and de-identified information wherever possible.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it to show you third-party advertising.

When we share information

  • To move the freight. Carriers, drivers, brokers, warehouses, ports, and customs partners receive the shipment details they need. A shipper sees its carrier’s tracking and delivery documents; a carrier sees the shipper’s shipment details.
  • Service providers. Hosting, e-mail and SMS delivery, telematics, document storage, payments and invoice financing, and analytics providers that work for us under contract and may use the information only to provide their service.
  • Legal. When required by law, subpoena, or a regulator, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the safety and rights of drivers, customers, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If Nettrux or a line of business is sold or merged, information transfers with it under this policy.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Push and SMS notifications

Nettrux does not currently send text messages. Our apps notify you through their own push notifications, which you can turn on or off on your device. If we ever offer SMS notifications — for example, “New message in Sequence — open the app” — the following will apply, and texts will go only to people who opted in. Messages would never contain the body of a dispatch conversation.

  • Opting in is a separate, optional choice. It is never a condition of using Sequence, the portal, or any Nettrux service, and a carrier cannot require it of a driver through us.
  • Message frequency varies with your loads. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or turn notifications off in the app. Reply HELP for help, or contact us below. We honor an opt-out request made by any reasonable means within ten business days.
  • Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties — except the messaging providers that deliver the texts on our behalf.

Driver location sharing

The Sequence driver app can share a truck’s location with the carrier’s dispatch and with the people the carrier gives a live tracking link to, such as the shipper of the load. It works only if the driver turns it on:

  • Sharing is opt-in per shift. The driver taps “I agree” on their own device to start, and can turn it off at any time; nothing is collected while it is off.
  • Location is collected only while the app is open in the foreground. The app cannot track a phone in the background or when it is closed.
  • Precise positions are kept for about 90 days, then de-identified. Unsent positions held on the phone expire after 24 hours.
  • Location sharing has a battery impact, and the app says so before you turn it on.

Cookies and analytics

The portal and Sequence use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in, secure your session, and remember a preference such as your language in the driver app (kept for one year). nettrux.net uses privacy-preserving analytics that count page views, referrers, and interactions such as which quote-entry link was selected, without cross-site tracking cookies or advertising identifiers. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or session-replay tools, and message screens in Sequence carry no analytics at all.

How long we keep information

  • Shipment, billing, and payment records: for as long as transportation, tax, and accounting law require, then deleted or de-identified.
  • Dispatch messages in Sequence: kept as the carrier’s operational record for safety, compliance, and claims, for as long as the carrier’s retention schedule and the law require, or longer under a legal hold. Withdrawing consent stops new messages; records a carrier is legally required to keep are retained for that period.
  • Driver location: about 90 days precise, then de-identified.
  • Accounts: until you or your company close them, plus any period required by law.
  • Security and audit logs: as needed to investigate incidents and demonstrate compliance.

Security

We encrypt information in transit, restrict access to the people and systems that need it, keep tenant data separated, identify drivers by codes rather than personal details wherever we can, and record consent decisions in an append-only ledger so they can be audited. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

You can review and correct your account details in the portal or app, turn location sharing off in the app, and stop SMS by replying STOP. For anything else, contact us below and we will verify your request and respond within the time the law allows.

California residents have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request its deletion or correction; to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither); and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. You may use an authorized agent. Some records — for example, shipment and safety records a carrier must keep — are exempt from deletion while the legal obligation lasts.

If you interact with Nettrux as an employee or contractor of a carrier or shipper, some requests are best addressed to that company, and we will help route them.

Children

Our services are for businesses and working professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we will delete it if we learn we have.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will tell affected account holders before it takes effect.
